Kevin Auger - Chef d’ Cuisine
Laughing Pear

Originally from the up and coming culinary and restaurant scene of Cleveland, Ohio, Chef Kevin is still relatively new to Utah. He graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in sociology and criminology, while maintaining full time jobs at various four star restaurants, country clubs, and various hotels. Cooking helped Chef Kevin pay for his entire college education, graduating with no college debt is something that Chef Kevin is very proud of.

Chef Kevin started his culinary career at the age of 15 in a small family restaurant in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. From there, he has continued to grow. His next job was at Lakewood Country Club where he learned more of the culinary basics and fine toned his skills. Following Lakewood Country Club he was under the tutelage of Chef Andrew Bower of Market Garden Brewery and Distillery in Cleveland’s revitalized “Ohio City” neighborhood.

This ultimately brings us to his latest endeavor, The Laughing Pear Group. Chef Kevin explains that, “In the culinary industry, you never stop learning and Chef Dave has truly taught me a lot. From the various cuisines, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles it has been a great learning experience.” Chef Dave has motivated Chef Kevin to return to school to get his culinary degree at The Art Institute of Salt Lake City.
